Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin has hailed this week's high-level trade mission to the Middle East as a huge success.
Almost 120 companies have been involved in the week-long trip to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which is winding down today.
The delegation was led by the Taoiseach and the Ministers for Enterprise, Education and Agriculture.
Mr Martin says the companies involved secured deals worth €65m, with new agreements reached in areas like education, software development, research and global sales.
Ireland currently exports €300m worth of goods and services to Saudi Arabia, but the minister says this is expected to increase to €1bn over the next few years as a result of the trade mission.
