Dublin Chamber of Commerce has welcomed the announcement that IKEA has been granted permission to build a store in Ballymun.
It says the company will provide vital local employment and will stimulate competition in the sector.
IKEA has also released a statement saying it is looking forward to moving on with its plans for Dublin.
The outlet will directly employ 500 people and will create a further 100 jobs in outsourcing services.
An Bord Pleanála this morning granted permission for the project, subject to 30 conditions aimed at preventing traffic congestion, protecting the visual amenity of the area and promoting sustainable development.
