The Jameson International Graduate Programme is currently recruiting graduates for its 2018/19 intake.

A brand recognised for its ability to tell the story of Irish whiskey in different and unique ways, they are currently recruiting graduates from a range of different backgrounds and with a variety of language skills.

The programme is a sales and marketing programme which is open to those outside of traditional business and marketing degrees.

The Jameson International Graduate Programme, which has been running for 26 years, aims to give recent graduates an insight into the Irish whiskey industry, develop their sales and marketing capabilities, as well as honing skills such as relationship building and influencing that are critical business and life skills.

Today, there are 90 brand ambassadors based in 46 countries across the world.

Saoirse O’Driscoll, assistant brand manager in the Jameson portfolio and recent programme graduate, had lived in five countries before she was five.

While on the Jameson International Graduate Programme, Saoirse experienced life in three different countries — Cyprus, France and Sweden.

Speaking about her experience of the programme in France, she said: “Understanding different cultures was practically in my blood. The Pernod Ricard global HQ is based in Paris, so I had the opportunity to use my language skill to truly get to know the global team and build relationships. These relationships are now a vital part of my permanent post programme role as assistant brand manager.”

“Engaging with local bars is a huge part of the role of an ambassador. Being able to converse with them fluently helped me to clearly tell them what Jameson is about,” Saoirse stated.

“The programme gave me an opportunity to develop both personally and professionally,” she added.

While a language is certainly a benefit, it is not a requirement.

Sinéad D’Arcy, manager of the Jameson International Graduate Programme, said: “We are all about diversity in Jameson. Once you are a creative self-starter we believe that we have adequate supports in place to aid graduates flourish as ambassadors.

“This year alone we have hired graduates with science degrees, drama degrees and politics masters. The unique insights they bring as ambassadors is what propels the Jameson brand into the spotlight.”

n Online applications are now open at www.jamesongraduateprogramme.com, and close at 1pm Wednesday, January 17, 2018.
