Boeing is reportedly cutting 4,000 jobs by June.
The Seattle Times has said the aerospace company wants to eliminate 10% of its worldwide workforce, which would mean about 8,000 positions going in the US state of Washington.
In February, the firm announced it would be cutting commercial aircraft jobs to save money.
The job cuts are reported to include hundreds of executives and managers, but the company has said it will not be done by involuntary layoffs.
The numbers are to be reduced by a set number of voluntary lay-offs and leaving open positions unfilled.
