Aer Lingus today said its total passenger numbers for April, including Aer Lingus Regional operations, increased by 3.2% compared to the same month last year.

Aer Lingus today said its total passenger numbers for April, including Aer Lingus Regional operations, increased by 3.2% compared to the same month last year.

Total flown passenger numbers in April 2012 were 890,000, compared to 862,000 in April 2011.

That broke down into total flown passenger numbers of 811,000 for Aer Lingus - an increase of 1.4% - and total flown passenger numbers of 79,000 for Aer Lingus Regional, an increase of 27.4%.

Short haul flown passengers in April 2012 were 732,000, an increase of 0.7% on April 2011, while long haul flown passengers in April 2012 were 79,000, an increase of 8.2% on April 2011, the airline said.

Flown passenger load factor in April 2012 increased by 2.8 points on April 2011 to 72.7%.
