Aer Lingus may consider moving the bulk of its operations from its Irish bases to elsewhere in Europe in an effort to cut costs.
Officials from the former national airline refused to rule out such a move at a press briefing in Dublin Airport this morning after earlier revealing losses of €93m for the first half of this year.
Aer Lingus says it cannot continue to burn cash and must overhaul its business model to stay afloat.
It says this could include moving aircraft and staff bases abroad, but a final decision will not be made until later in the year.
