Footie fans dig deep for hallowed truf

Crazed soccer fans are paying up to £45 for grass from their favourite club's pitch.

Authentic Grass Sports is selling sections of grass from the hallowed turf in stadiums including Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge, Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, Newcastle’s St James’ Park and Rangers’ Ibrox.

A spokesman from the company said: "A winning goal may have been scored on some of the very blades of grass that fans can now buy.

“And Frank Lampard, Fernando Torres, Theo Walcott, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie may also once have run all over them.”
