Fergie installs tanning booth to look after players' health

Manchester United have a tanning booth installed because their players don't get enough sun.

Manager Alex Ferguson ordered a Vitamin D machine for the players at the club's Carrington training ground because it rains so much in the city, academics at Harvard Business School in Boston have found.

Anita Elberse and Tom Dye compiled a study on the manager entitled 'Sir Alex Ferguson: Managing Manchester United', in which they also discovered each player likes to use the machine up to three times a week but Ferguson gives them one-week breaks during the winter time to prevent Vitamind D deficiencies.

They found the manager "could talk enthusiastically about the new Vitamin D machine, which perhaps most resembled a tanning booth".
