Visiting restrictions still in place at St Vincent's Hospital

St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin says visiting restrictions remain in place following the recent outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.

Some 69 patients have been affected to date but the spread of the virus has slowed with just one new case reported over the weekend, the hospital said.

The hospital is now dealing with just nine confirmed cases and the number of beds closed as a result of the outbreak has been reduced to 12.

"People should make only essential visits, not bring any children and observe the hand hygiene guidelines throughout the hospital," the hospital said.

"Members of the public who have symptoms such as ‘upset tummy’ should not attend the hospital but contact their GP in the first instance if they have serious concerns."
