Body of missing Dane found in Iraq

The body of a Danish man, believed to have been kidnapped in Iraq last week, has been found, the Foreign Ministry said in Copenhagen today.

The missing man, who has not been publicly identified, was found dead on April 12 by Iraqi police.

No details about how he died or where was found were immediately available.

He was reported missing on April 11.

Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet identified the man as Henrik Frandsen, a 35-year-old plumber from Copenhagen

He is the second Dane to die in Iraq.

A Danish soldier was a friendly fire victim while on patrol last August.

Denmark has 410 troops in Basra and nearby Qurnah.
