Workmen's Dunleary 0 Shelbourne 3

A cracking long-range goal from skipper Owen Heary and a brace from sub John Burns ended Workmen's brave resistance at the Carlisle Grounds.

Heary cracked home the lead goal a minute after the break when finding the net from 25 yards after Pat Fenlon and Wes Houlihan set him up.

Burns added the second on 71 minutes when chipping past brave Workmen's keeper Colin Kelly from Martin Gritton's cross.

Jim Gannon then put Burns through nine minutes from time and the midfielder calmly slotted home his second and Shels third of the night.
