The president of Zambia has died in a London hospital, according to reports.

The president of Zambia has died in a London hospital, according to reports.

President Michael Sata had undergone medical care in the city in the past week, independent news website Zambia Reports said.

The 77-year-old died at 9pm last night, a government source told the news site.

Mr Sata was elected President in 2011, when he defeated the incumbent President Rupiah Banda
