A piece of wreckage found on an Indian Ocean island has been confirmed as coming from a Boeing 777, according to Malaysia's deputy transport minister.

Investigators say they are close to solving the mystery of MH370, which disappeared 16 months ago with 239 people onboard.

Experts in Toulouse in France will examine the debris that washed up on Reunion Island to see whether it is from the aircraft.

The part is being sent to France this evening for analysis and will arrive for testing tomorrow morning or afternoon.
