Violence continues ahead of republican demonstration12/07/2012 - 19:51:03
There have been violent scenes in North Belfast this evening.
Loyalist and republican groups have thrown bricks and bottles at each other on the Crumlin Road ahead of a planned republican demonstration.
Earlier, the PSNI was forced to deploy a water cannon after nationalist protesters threw missiles at police.
It comes after the Twelfth of July Orange march in the Ardoyne passed without major incident this afternoon.
Ardoyne residents group spokesman Dee Fennell has appealed to young people for calm this evening…
"We've asked the young people involved in this violence to cease, because if they continue their violence the PSNI are going to ban our parade".
