US college employee killed in campus shooting

School officials say the victim of a community college shooting in North Carolina was a print shop operator who was a long-time campus employee.

Wayne Community College spokeswoman Tara Humphries identified the man as Ron Lane, who had just arrived at work when he was shot.

Officials say they are looking for Kenneth Stancil, who they believe entered a campus building that houses the library and cafeteria with a rifle and shot Mr Lane.

Police spokeswoman Kim Best says the two men knew each other.

Authorities have not released a motive for the shooting.

Authorities have swept the campus and do not believe that Stancil is still there.
