US allows export of web services to Cuba, Iran and Sudan
08/03/2010 - 17:45:58The United States is set to ease sanctions against against Cuba, Iran and Sudan by allowing the export of web services to them.
The move is intended to ensure that people in those countries can exercise their right to free speech and information.
Technology companies will now be able to export online services such as instant messaging and social networks.
This will allow firms such as Microsoft and Yahoo to get around strict export restrictions.
