A home video showing a four-year-old Chinese boy in New York being forced by his parents to run in the snow in his underpants has sparked an online uproar in China.

The youngster's father said he was only trying to train his son to be strong, but the footage has ignited debate about the tough parenting style.

The little boy is seen running in thick snow with only his shoes and underpants on, and also doing press ups.
