A man from the UK has pleaded guilty to federal charges in New York that he plotted to set up a terrorist training camp in Oregon.
Haroon Aswat pleaded guilty to supporting terrorism and conspiracy. He could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.
Prosecutors say Aswat conspired with a radical cleric to set up a terrorist training camp in Bly, Oregon, 15 years ago.
He was arrested in 2005 in Zambia and later taken to the UK. He fought extradition for several years before being sent to the US last year to face the terror charges.
His lawyers say he has been treated for mental illness.
He will be sentenced on July 31.
