A driver for international taxi-booking service Uber is due to appear in a New Delhi court charged with raping a woman he was driving home.

A driver for international taxi-booking service Uber is due to appear in a New Delhi court charged with raping a woman he was driving home.

Police said they filed the case against 32-year-old Shif Kumar Yadav after the woman, who works for a finance company, alleged she was raped on Friday night on her way home from a dinner engagement in the Indian capital.

The suspect was arrested last night in his home town south of New Delhi, and was taken by police to court today.
