The storm hit the south-east coast of the Indian Ocean island nation on Wednesday.

Madagascar’s National Office for Disaster Preparedness said today that many homes have been destroyed by flooding.

Madagascar lies off the south-eastern coast of Africa and is in the main storm path of the Indian Ocean basin.
