Ten die in blast on Turkey-Syria border

An explosion has killed at least 10 people and injured dozens more in the south-eastern Turkish city of Suruc, near the Syrian border.

Turkey’s DHA news agency said at least 50 people have been taken to hospital.

Suruc is just across the border from the Syrian city of Kobani, the scene of fierce battles between Kurdish groups and Islamic State.

DHA said the blast occurred at a cultural centre while a political group was giving a statement to the press on Kobani’s reconstruction.
