Sean Connery's wife has been ordered to stand trial in Spain over an alleged multi-million pound tax fraud.

86-year-old Micheline Roquebrune could face a fine of up to £16m and up to two and a half years in prison if she is found guilty.

It is after an investigation uncovered apparent irregularities surrounding the sale of the couple's seaside villa near Marbella in southern Spain in 1998.

Connery was cleared of all charges.
