San Fran window cleaner survives 11-story roof plunge as car breaks fall

A San Francisco window cleaner has survived after falling 11 storeys from a rooftop on to a moving car.

A police spokeswoman said the man was conscious when officers arrived and was taken to hospital with critical injuries.

Police said the motorist was making a left turn when the window cleaner fell on to the roof of the car.

The driver of the Toyota Camry was not injured.

The man fell from the roof of a building in San Francisco’s financial district and not from a window cleaning platform. Blood, glass and a shoe were in the street as onlookers watched police work.
