Romney to push jobs issue at debate

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said the upcoming presidential debate is not about winning and losing.

Mr Romney has arrived in Denver ahead of his Wednesday fixture with President Barack Obama.

He told a crowd of thousands at a rally that the debates are about “something bigger” than who wins.

The Republican nominee stood in front of four enormous banners that spelled out the word “jobs”.

He said that jobs would be, quote, “job one” under a Romney administration.

Mr Romney has been putting in long hours of practice for the Wednesday debate.

He plans to spend today doing more preparation work, at a Denver hotel, and does not plan any public events.
