Report: French president and wife 'having affairs'

Rumours are sweeping France that both President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni are having affairs.

There is unsubstantiated speculation on Twitter that Ms Bruni has a "close relationship" with a musician.

While the Journal du Dimanche reports that the President is "seeking comfort" with his married ecology minister.

This has been strongly denied by her spokesman.
