Red wine drinkers 'gain less weight'
07/03/2010 - 11:06:09There is good news for women who like a drink but are worried about putting on weight.
Research from America has found those who have a glass or two of wine are less likely to pile on the pounds than those who stick to soft drinks.
Scientists studied more than 19,000 women over 20 years and say while most put on some weight, red wine drinkers gained the least.
The research also found that a calorie from alcohol has less impact on weight than a calorie from other foods.
