Rebels determined to make stand in Aleppo

Syrian rebels are vowing to fight on in Aleppo after being driven out of a key district under heavy shellfire.

Around a dozen people were killed and 20 wounded when a shell crashed into a bakery in the city as hundreds of civilians queued up for bread.

State news also reported that Syrian troops repelled a rebel attack on Aleppo's international airport.

There were reports also that Aleppo's historic Citadel, part of a UNESCO-listed world heritage site, was heavily damaged by bombing.
