Pope Francis has given a speech to the United Nations in New York, focusing on the environment and the poor.

Pope Francis has given a speech to the United Nations in New York, focusing on the environment and the poor.

The pontiff said the most needy had a right to education, a home and employment.

He also made this plea for world peace.

"There is urgent need to work for a world free of nuclear weapons in full application of the non-proliferation of treaty towards the goal of a complete prohibition of these weapons."
