Two women have been shot by police in New York's Time Square.

Two women have been shot by police in New York's Time Square.

The pair were shot by accident, as police tried to arrest a man in the busy tourist area.

Their injuries are not life threatening.

A 35-year-old man was running in and out of traffic, and appeared to be trying to get hit by a car.

Officers fired three shots at the man and missed.

Police then used a taser gun to apprehend him.
