One person is in a critical condition and a second is in a serious condition after a shooting at a shopping mall in Houston in Texas.
Seven more people were treated for injures in hospital.
The gunman, believed to be a lawyer, was shot dead by police at the scene. They are now investigating whether there were issues at the law firm where he worked.
Acting Police Chief Martha Montalvo told reporters a bomb disposal robot is currently being used to examine his car.
Several people have been shot at a shopping centre in Houston, according to police, who said that officers had shot the gunman.
Police said that an "active shooter at Weslayan & Bissonnet had been shot by our officers" and that there are no reports of other suspects "at this time".

A man has been shot at the scene of a shoot-out in which at least seven people have been injured.
The incident occurred at a shopping centre in Houston, Texas at 6.29am this morning.
Police arrived at the scene and shot a man following reports of a man shooting at vehicles at the shopping centre.
Local media reports that the police are not looking for anyone else in connection to the incident.
Police have said a bomb squad has been dispatched to the area at Randalls supermarket strip mall to investigate a suspicious vehicle.
At least seven people have been transferred to hospitals in the area.
