Police investigating Madeleine disappearance arrest convicted paedophile

A convicted paedophile is to be questioned by police in England investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

Roderick McDonald, aged 76, was reportedly living in the Algarve at the time of the three-year-old's disappearance in 2007.

He was detained in Malta after being on the run since 2012 following his conviction for abusing two girls.

It is understood police in the UK want to speak to him about a possible paedophile ring which could have been operating in the Algarve at the time Madeleine went missing.
