Police in England investigating an armed raid on a bank have arrested a man.

Police in England investigating an armed raid on a bank have arrested a man.

The suspect had been described as being in his 60s or 70s with receding grey hair and a beard.

He allegedly threatened staff at the TSB in Holt, north Norfolk, with what appeared to be a firearm, Norfolk Police said.

The incident happened at about 3pm yesterday.

The cashier refused and the man left empty-handed.

The force said officers arrested a 48-year-old local man this afternoon.

He is being held in custody awaiting a police interview.
