Pistorius trial to resume after month-long break for mental-health tests

The Oscar Pistorius trial will resume this morning after the athlete underwent a month-long mental health evaluation.

The break came after a forensic psychiatrist who was called as a witness by the defence said Pistorius was suffering an anxiety disorder.

Pistorius denies premeditated murder, and claims he shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp accidentally thinking she was an intruder.

Reporter JJ Cornish, who has been covering the trial in Pretoria, said: "If it's not a unanimous finding by the three psychiatrists and the one psychologist, they will be called individually to give evidence," he said.
