Two suicide bombers blew themselves up outside a state-run Pakistani airline building in the country’s main north-west city today, killing two people.

Senior regional minister Bashir Bilour said six people were injured in the attack in Peshawar.

The blast occurred along a major road in a commercial area. TV footage from the scene showed shattered glass and debris covering a wide area as security officials flooded the zone.

A wave of attacks have occurred in Pakistan since October, as militants apparently retaliate for an army offensive against the Taliban. The attacks have killed more than 500 people.

Peshawar has been hit frequently. A blast outside the local press club killed three people two days ago.
