Over 100 Syrians detained by Lebanese army

Lebanon's army has said it has detained over 100 Syrians for illegal entry into the country, following a series of bombings the previous day that shook a village near the countries' border.

The raids were conducted early on Tuesday in six areas in the Baalbek region, which has many informal refugee settlements.

They came hours after a series of explosions, including at least six suicide bombings, rocked the mainly Christian village of Qaa near the Syrian border.

Five people were killed and nearly 30 were wounded in the blasts, including one outside the church where people had gathered for funerals.

The state-run National News Agency said the funerals have been postponed for security concerns. Lebanon's Hezbollah group also says it is postponing a religious event in Beirut later in the day.
