Russia and China back UN observers resolution on Syria

Russia and China have backed a UN Security Council resolution on Syria.

It means 30 unarmed observers will be allowed in to monitor the fragile ceasefire.

Today's was the first resolution approved by the UN body since the uprising began 13 months ago.

Reports say the truce in Syria has been broken a number of times today, with government forces opening fire in Homs and Aleppo.
