Nobel prize winner and subject of 'A Beautiful Mind', John Nash, has died with his wife, Alicia, in a taxi crash in New Jersey.

Nobel prize winner and subject of 'A Beautiful Mind', John Nash, has died with his wife, Alicia, in a taxi crash in New Jersey.

The US mathematician was known for his work in Game Theory and had suffered from paranoid schizophrenia.

His struggles were documented in the 2001 film, starring Russell Crowe as Nash and Jennifer Connelly as his wife.

Crowe tweeted: "Stunned...my heart goes out to John & Alicia & family. An amazing partnership. Beautiful minds, beautiful hearts."
