The Turkish army reports that it has arrested nine UK nationals who are suspected of trying to cross into Syria.
It is understood that these three men, two women and four children were detained by soldiers at a military outpost near a border crossing.
The British Foreign Office says that it is looking into the reports.
Turkish borders are a target for EU nationals who aim to illegally enter Syria.
This latest suspected attempted crossing follows recent reports of UK nationals trying to reach Syria.
A 21-year-old woman and three girls were detained after arriving in Turkey from the UK last month, and three teenage girls also from the UK crossed from Turkey into Syria to join IS in February.
A group of nine British medical students of Sudanese origin also went missing last month after travelling to Turkey with the apparent aim of crossing into Syria to join IS.
