New air strikes hit Syrian city of Aleppo

Update 3pm:

A Syrian clinic has been hit by an airstrike - the second time this week that a medical facility has been struck.

The incident on the Al-Marja neighbourhood of rebel-held Aleppo wounded several people.

Several other strikes appeared to target mosques.

Earlier:

Syrian government war planes have launched fresh air raids on rebel-held parts of the northern city of Aleppo, according to opposition activists.

Friday's air strikes followed a brief lull in the morning, a day after scores of people were killed in air raids and shelling in the contested city.

Fears of more violence prompted religious leaders in rebel-held neighbourhoods to suspend Friday prayers at the city mosques.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said one person was killed while another activist group, the Local Coordination Committees, said three died in the strikes.

Several people were also reported wounded.
