Military transport plane crashes in Tehran residential area

A C-130 military transport plane crashed today in a residential district of the Iranian capital Tehran, state television reported.

There were no immediate reports of casualties.

The C-130 crashed immediately after taking off from Tehran’s Mehrabad airport, it said. News reports said the plane crashed in Azari district, an inhabited area close to the airport.
