Man quizzed over stabbing death of teen in UK

Friends of fifteen year old school girl Megan-Leigh Peat, who was murdered in the early hours of Saturday morning, in Ampthill in Bedfordshire arrive to lay floral tributes at the scene of her death.

Detectives in Britain investigating the murder of a “beautiful” teenage girl were continuing to question a 19-year-old man today.

The 15-year-old, named locally as Megan-Leigh Peat, was killed at a house in Bedfordshire in the early hours of yesterday.

Police said officers attended the property after receiving a report that she had been fatally injured, but would not comment on neighbours’ claims that she was stabbed to death at a house party.

A Bedfordshire Police spokesman said a post-mortem examination will take place today.

Police said a murder investigation was launched after a woman died from “serious injuries” yesterday.

Officers found the body at a property in Ailesbury Road, Ampthill, at around 1.30am after receiving a report that a woman had been fatally injured.

Scenes of crime officers started a full forensic examination of the semi-detached house and the surrounding area which was expected to continue today.

Megan-Leigh’s friends paid tribute to her on social networking sites Facebook and Twitter.
