A gunman disguised as a police officer has gone on the rampage in a local parliament building in Switzerland.

A gunman disguised as a police officer has gone on the rampage in a local parliament building in Switzerland.

The incident happened in Zug, near Zurich, as the state government was in session.

There are reports of hand grenades exploding.

Police say there are casualties and possibly fatalities.

A large number of officers have been sent to the scene, according to reports.

A private radio station, Sunshine, which had a correspondent in the building at the time, says the man stormed into the parliamentary office.

He reportedly shot wildly around him and threw hand grenades.

There was apparently an explosion.

There is no immediate word on casualties.
