Man fined for speeding after hitting just 14kms an hour

A driver from Switzerland has been fined for speeding for going just 14kms an hour.

However, the speed limit through the town of Lahr, on the German side of the German-Swiss border, is just 6 kms an hour as local rules mean that cars or cyclists can not exceed walking pace.

Marco Della Cà said he had just put the car into first gear and started moving when he saw the speed camera flash at him.

He has said he couldn't believe he broke the limit, as he believes a child on a tricycle could go faster than he was moving.

The driver had to pay a €15 fine. Marco has apparently kept the speeding ticket as a souvenir.
