Update 6pm: It is believed up to ten people were on board the 'Tsunami' ride at the 'M and Ds' theme park when it came off the track.

Seven people have been injured in the rollercoaster crash in Motherwell.

Six ambulances are currently at the scene.

James Millerick was at the theme park when the accident happened, and has been helping the injured: “You heard shrieks and then there was complete silence, when we went over to see what had happened we saw a rollercoaster had came off the track entirely and was upside down on the concrete path.”

Earlier Emergency services have said they are dealing with a "major incident" at a theme park in North Lanarkshire.

Police Scotland have said they were called to M and D's amusement park shortly before 4pm.

Fire and ambulance services were also called to the incident in Strathclyde Country Park.

Pictures on social media show a rollarcoaster has come off the tracks.
