Kidnappers released a Jordanian businessman today, two weeks after he was taken hostage in Iraq.

Ziad Jabr Abu Irfai is in the custody of the Jordanian embassy in Baghdad and is expected to return home tonight, said a Foreign Ministry official.

Irfai’s father said last week that the kidnappers had demanded an €115,000 ransom. It was not clear if it had been paid.
