An iconic painting by Delacroix has been vandalised at the Louvre in Paris.

A 28 year old woman was apprehended by an attendant last night after writing across the painting "Liberty Leading the People" with black marker.

The painting by Delacroix commemorates France's July Revolution of 1830.
