Police are hunting for a man they say shot and killed his estranged wife in the car park of a high school in suburban Washington DC.
Prince George's County Police Department said officers are working to find 62-year-old Eulalio Tordil in connection with the killing.
A statement said Tordil, from Adelphi, is an employee of the Federal Protective Service, which provides security at federal buildings and properties.
Police said the victim of the shooting at High Point High School in Beltsville, Maryland, was 44-year-old Gladys Tordil.
A bystander was also wounded.
