Hamza: Foreign Office controlled by Jews
24/01/2006 - 13:23:54Alleged race hate preacher Abu Hamza today accused the Foreign Office and the media of being controlled by Jews.
Hamza told jurors at the Old Bailey that he did not believe in the state of Israel “because it means state of my death – holocaust”.
“There are people who are Zionists who live outside (Israel) who are helping Zionists in Israel.”
When David Perry, prosecuting, asked whether he was saying the Foreign Office is controlled by Jews, he replied: “Yes.”
Mr Perry: “...and the media?”
Hamza: “Yes. If a doctor kills 250 of his patients there is not a single word about his religion – Dr Shipman I am talking about.”
Mr Perry: “...and the Jews in this country control money supply?”
Hamza: “Not only here, but in America as well.”
Mr Perry was continuing to cross-examine the cleric who is spending his fourth day in the witness box. Exchanges between the two were frequently sharp.
Mr Perry asked Hamza to whom he was referring when he had talked about the “sugar daddies of Israel”.
Hamza replied: “The people who are allowing people in Israel to get away with the murder they do.”
He said foreign policy in this country had been hijacked by the friends of Israel.
Hamza, 47, from west London, faces nine charges under the Offences Against the Person Act 1861 alleging that he solicited others at public meetings to murder Jews and other non-Muslims.
He also faces four charges under the Public Order Act 1986 of “using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with the intention of stirring up racial hatred”.
A further charge alleges Hamza was in possession of video and audio recordings, which he intended to distribute to stir up racial hatred.
The final charge, under section 58 of the Terrorism Act, accuses him of possession of a document, the Encyclopaedia of the Afghani Jihad, which contained information “of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism”.
The cleric denies all the charges.
