Golfer's ex-wife found dead
02/06/2001 - 16:00:47The ex-wife of golfer Fred Couples has died after apparently jumping from a chapel roof.
Police say Deborah Couples, 43, was reported missing from her US home last Saturday.
They said her body was discovered on May 26 by children after she jumped from the seven storey-high Kresge Chapel at the Claremont School of Theology.
She may have been depressed, according to a missing persons report.
It is not known why she drove to Claremont, which is 45 miles from her home in Corona del Mar, California.
Fred and Deborah separated in 1992 and they divorced the following year. He won the Masters in 1992.
