A one-year-old girl was shot in the head as she sat in a car with her parents in an apparent case of road rage, police in the Seattle suburb of Kent said.
The girl is in a “very critical condition”, according to Harborview Medical Centre spokeswoman Susan Gregg.
The child was in a car seat in the back of a silver Chevrolet Impala and her parents were in the front seat when a black car pulled alongside, said Kent police spokeswoman Melanie Robinson.
The driver and passenger of the black car opened fire, then drove off, she added.
Police did not offer details on the possible conflict.
